“Our organization is dedicated to empowering historically underserved communities through unity and resource mobilization. We believe that the community itself is its greatest resource, and by coming together, we can address areas that have been ignored and underserved. Through community outreach, clothing and food drives, educational services, neighborhood clean-up initiatives, and other collaborative efforts, we strive to change the narrative and create a more equitable and thriving community.”

The Yaya’s Dream Foundation was founded in the wake of a tragic event that struck the hearts of its founders, Brandi and Tokiyo Major.

In 2023, their beloved nine-year old daughter, T’Yonna Major, was senselessly murdered in their own home. The devastating loss of their daughter, a vibrant and compassionate aspiring gymnast, left Brandi and Tokiyo shattered and searching for a way to turn their grief into something positive.

Determined to honor T’Yonna’s memory and prevent others from experiencing similar tragedies, Tokiyo and Brandi, along with close friends and family, came together to establish Yaya’s Dream Corp. Inspired by their daughter’s unwavering belief in the power of community and the need for change, they embarked on a mission to transform their grief into action.

The Yaya’s Dream Foundation aspires to be a dynamic and effective resource and advocate for underprivileged and distressed communities. With unwavering dedication, we strive to uplift, advance, and ensure the safety of individuals facing adversity. By fostering positive change, building partnerships, and being a beacon of hope, we envision a future where every member of society has the opportunity to realize their dreams and aspirations.
